Not everyone was a traditional wedding ceremony, in fact, more and more couples are optioning for something different, something unique, something memorable. We catch up with Irish Celtic Priestess, Olive De Ville, to chat all about ancient Celtic Ceremonies.
“My name is Olive De Ville. I am an Irish Celtic Priestess and Celebrant of ancient Celtic Ceremonies. I conduct a wide variety of beautiful Bespoke Celtic Ceremonies.
“These include Handfasting weddings, Renewal of vows, Baby namings, Coming of age (adolescence), Arrival of Crone (change of life), New home/new business/new job, pet/loss of pet and private one-to-one healing ceremonies.
“As a Celtic Priestess and Celebrant, no two ceremonies I conduct are ever the same. I tailor-make and personalise each Handfasting wedding according to the clients’ wishes and needs, making your ceremony totally unique, more meaningful and special.
“I provide all the necessary materials for ceremonies such as the different altar set-ups and sacred objects. All the objects are specifically hand-crafted and blessed for your ceremony. As your Celebrant, I will help you chose poems, readings, vows, music and help you allocate roles for family and friends you wish to be incorporated into the ceremony.”
“As your Priestess Celebrant, I integrate the healing powers of nature, her seasons, the elements of air, fire, earth and water around each Handfasting ceremony. I will also invoke the blessings and guidance of your ancestors, your spiritual guardians and guides aligned to your spiritual path and beliefs to celebrate your special day.
“I will work with you to create the perfect ceremony for you. I will guide you through each step of the ceremony and help you celebrate your occasion in a totally special, unique, sacred and beautiful manner.”
“I offer various wedding packages to couples which include not only the Handfasting ceremony, but also can include accommodation, photography and my tour guiding services for newly-weds after the ceremony, should they wish to experience the sacred sites and monuments of Ireland.
“Some people may like to have two separate wedding ceremonies. One with me and another wedding ceremony with their local wedding registrar. However, I am also more than happy to liaise with your Registrar, who I can incorporate into the Handfasting ceremony.
“However, if you prefer to have a registrar ceremony but still would like a Celtic blessing and the actual rite of Handfasting, I am happy to be present at the registry office or planned venue and perform just the binding of both couples’ hands. I was awarded Best Civil Ceremonist in Ireland by RSVP Wedding Awards 2016.
