Bride Anita O’Dwyer recalls special highlights from her stunning wedding to groom, Derrick Lynch……..
THE DATE
Saturday 16th July 2016
THE PROPOSAL
Christmas 2013 in front of the Eiffel Tower by night, followed by dinner in the restaurant there and then another magical day at Disneyland the following day to add to our fairytale.
THE LOCATION
The Star of the Sea Church, Quilty
THE DRESS
My dress was from The Bridal Emporium, Miltown Malbay, Co. Clare. Dress shopping was such a pleasure thanks to Anne & Liz. It was my first shop to visit, located just five minutes from where I live. I still visited a variety of other shops but ended up coming back for the gúna that I loved the most from my first bridal shop experience.
THE PHOTOGRAPHER
Louise Brooks Photography, Ennis, Co. Clare (all images except drone photograph from The Armada Hotel overlooking Spanish Point). Drone Photograph: Ian Sexton Aerial Photography.
THE VENUE
The Armada Hotel, Spanish Point, Co. Clare
SPECIAL HIGHLIGHTS
If I was pushed to narrow down the highlights I’d have to say:
1. Message in a bottle with a poem inside written by Derrick which I received that morning
2. My father lifting my veil and embracing me at the altar
3. Derrick singing the Derek Ryan song ‘God’s Plan’ after communion.
4. The first dance which took place on a sparkle dance floor we’d hired and a confetti blast. We started with the Kodaline song The One, following with snippets from Boom Boom Boom, Tonto, and Shut Up and Dance. The other eight members of our bridal party joined us for Sax and together the ten of us continued to dance to Cha Cha Slide and Riverdance.
5. The key highlight was without doubt having our nearest and dearest present on the day to celebrate with us.
THE HONEYMOON
A trip of a lifetime to Mauritius, Dubai & Abu Dhabi!
