The biggest congratulations are due for Jennie McAlpine this evening.

The actress shocked fans by marrying long-term-partner Chris Farr in a secret ceremony today.

The Coronation Street star appears to have tied the knot in Trafford Town Hall.

Jennie took to Twitter this evening to share a picture of their hands – complete with wedding rings:

Alongside it she wrote: “So, we went to Trafford Town Hall earlier this week and had a bit of a special day”

Fans rushed to congratulate the couple, who have a two-year-old son, Albert together

One wrote: “omg!!!! Congrats to you and C wonderful”

“many congratulations to you both xx,” another said.

One more posted: “awww!! Congratulations to you and Chris!!”

The pair have been together since 2005.
