RSVP Bride of the Week Debbie O’Neill recalls special highlights from her stunning wedding to groom, Michael Cussen…..
THE DATE
Saturday 3rd September 2016
THE LOCATION
We got married in Our Lady of Lourdes Church Ballinlough. I made my communion and confirmation in this church, so it was special for my dad to walk me up the aisle.
THE DRESS
My wedding dress was Vera Wang and I purchased it in Memories Bridal. I searched 11 bridal stores around Ireland to find ‘the one.’ I fell in love with my dress when I tried it on – it’s timeless! It was an ivory organza silk gown with lace trim detail on the bust. It had button detail down the back of the gown, with a cathedral length train of lace. I wore a one tier cathedral length veil.

THE VENUE
Dunmore House Hotel Clonakilty West Cork. This picturesque venue is the located on the waterfront overlooking the Clonakilty Bay. Carol the owner, was like my mum to me from the day we first met, she did everything to make the day impeccable for us. The dining room, service and food was exceptional. The venue was private to our wedding guests for the entire weekend, which made the wedding much more personal. It was important for us both to be surrounded by our friends and family. Everyone was overwhelmed by the venue.
SPECIAL HIGHLIGHTS
The moment I looked into Michaels’ eyes at the top of the alter will stay with me forever. I was so excited to see him, I couldn’t stop smiling for the entire ceremony. It was also lovely to have the drive to Clonakilty together because as every bride says, the day flies, so it was amazing to have some ‘us’ time.
THE HONEYMOON
We honeymooned in the tropics of Mauritius for 3 weeks. We stayed in two luxury resorts during our stay and toured the island to take in the culture as well as the tropical sunshine. It was a holiday of a lifetime.
