1.  1. Think about the weather

   Especially for brides getting married in warmer climates! Consider using as many oil-free products as possible — primer, moisturizer, foundation, etc. — and keeping oil-free blotting sheets on hand.

   2. Bring pictures

   Bring references to your make-up trial. Start looking for images of make-up that you really like and bring them with you on the day. Try to identify what it is you like about the make-up in the image.

   3. Wear white

   Wear a white t-shirt if you’re having your make-up test in a store so that you can see how the make-up looks against a pale colour and take a picture of yourself in day light (with no flash) to see how it looks before you purchase anything,

   4. Be specific

   If you’re going get your makeup done by a professional make up artist, be sure to tell him/her what you want from your makeup. If you want something bolder, or some specific colour, you should be able to get it. It is after all YOUR day, and you’re the one who gets to decide how your make up looks.

   5. Don’t forget brows

   Get  your brows plucked and shaped (possibly even tinted) before the wedding day. If you pluck them on your wedding day, your brows may look red, swollen and irritated.

   6. Make it last

   Your wedding day is a marathon, not a sprint, and you’ll want your make up to hold up through every last photo, dance, toast, and selfie. That makes primer essential: Spread it on your face and eyelids to make your make up  last.

   7. Make up not just on your face

   Don’t just apply make-up to your face. Instead, extend down your neck and over your shoulders if necessary, this will ensure you face is not a different colour or even texture to your body.
