Hair stylist to the stars, Pamela Morrissey, says that the type of hairstyles that brides are asking for on their wedding day have totally changed in the last number of years.
According to Pam, who is owner of the acclaimed Sobe Brown in Cork, traditional ‘set’ up styles are being replaced by softer and less polished dos.
Pamela says that the most popular styles nowadays are more natural looking, less structured Grecian up-styles.
The types of hair accessories that brides are wearing have also changed completely, according to Pam. The celeb stylist says that the traditional tiara has been replaced by bigger statement pieces, such as crowns and head chains.
Pamela’s top tip for bride’s to be is to always bring lots of photographs to your pre-wedding hair appointments. Pam insists that photos are the key to achieving your dream wedding hair.
The expert recommends that photos should be categorized into separate groups like, ‘fantasy hair’, ‘ideal hair’ and ‘realistic hair’.
Pam also advises that communicating with your stylist is vital during your pre-wedding hair trial, saying that you shouldn’t be afraid to speak up and tell the stylist exactly what way you want your hair to be. “Don’t worry about hurting anyone’s feelings”, says Pam.
“It’s important that you make the corrections during the trial, so that your stylist knows exactly what you want your hair to be like. It doesn’t matter if you have to correct them 15 times, this is the biggest day of your life and the photos will last forever.”
